Organic SEO vs Paid SEO

Let’s talk briefly about Organic SEO vs Paid SEO.

This came up for a client of mine a few months back as he has been looking for ways to increase the traffic on his website. That’s absolutely where SEO comes in handy. For those who are unfamiliar SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is the process of ensuring your website shows up when the people You want to find you are searching for what you have.

That’s a mouthful, I know. But if you run a business then you Need to have some understanding of SEO’s importance to your bottomline.

That’s where a conversation on Organic SEO vs Paid SEO comes to light. If you’re a business owner who wants more traffic it’s very easy to fall for the tricks! If someone offers to increase your traffic via Paid SEO please understand that method can become very pricey. It can also be pretty expensive to pay someone to do your Organic SEO as well. So I’m not here to say that one is necessarily better than the other. I am here to say that Paid SEO can become an endless money pit.

Where as with Organic SEO, the money you pay will reap rewards for several months and years to come. You’re either going to learn SEO on your own, pay someone to teach you or pay someone to do Organic SEO for you. It’s going to be a great investment in the growth of your business!

The main difference between Organic SEO and Paid SEO is what you’re paying for.

With Paid SEO techniques, a lot of paid advertisement is the key ingredient. This is great for traffic at times because people Do click on ads. However, when it comes to finding something do most people click on ads or visit search engines?

We know the answer – Most people visit search engines!

With many Paid SEO outlets you’ll end up getting google ads, and possibly even bing ads, and yahoo ads. You can see how this is starting to add up.

The money you’d pay will go further using Organic SEO. It’s more of a drawn out process that I won’t explain in full detail here. However, the search engine results will be organic. This is really what you want when you run a business. You want your website to be the #1 result, or at least be on that first page. Organic SEO can help you achieve this. If it’s done right, your website, or article will remain in that spot for several months, and possibly even years after you’ve paid for it.

There are variables involved however.

organic seo vs paid seo involves many variables

To rank on the first page of google for one keyword, may require more work than it will for another.

Be sure to consult with your Organic SEO expert to find the right keywords to start increasing traffic for your website. Target keywords that won’t take as much work if your Organic SEO budget isn’t that high! Then be patient. Organic SEO takes a bit longer but once it sticks, it’s not going anywhere. Paid SEO runs for the duration of your ad. When you stop paying for it, your result goes away.

Sometimes Paid SEO May be a better option for you than Organic SEO.

It’s good to understand the difference though, so that you can make the best decision for your business. In fact, Paid SEO is ‘actually’ called SEM; Seach Engine Marketing; read more about that here.
