You should be using social media to grow your business. It should be common knowledge by now but it isn’t. A lot of business owners have decided that they do not have the time to use these platforms. Others have decided they just don’t want to figure them out. All of them are wondering how they can grow their businesses.
It reminds me of the story about the Acres of Diamonds. So many people are sitting on a diamond field right now and think the grass is greener on the other side of the fence. Many of you have a business that has everything it needs – but you have to let people know about what you have. There are several ways to do this. What really matters at the end of the day is that you are doing this.
I was listening to a podcast today that talks about several ways to begin using social media to grow your business.
I suggest you pull out a pen and pad, and take some notes while you listen to this as well.
In the past we’ve written about how it’s important to put a real effort into how you’re using social media. This podcast goes deeper into this topic. I agree with just about everything that is discussed including a powerful point. Each social media platform is different, and will attract a specific audience. Twitter is going to appeal to people in a different way than Facebook does. Instagram is nothing like either of those two. Then you’ve got more platforms like google+, pinterest, tumblr and so many more.
As a business owner this may seem a bit overwhelming.
However, what you need to understand is your competition is using social media to grow their business; and if you don’t do the same, you’ll be OUT of business.
This is not really an option for you.
The sooner you begin to tackle this aspect of running your small business, you can begin figuring out what works best for you. As you’ll hear from the podcast I included, you have more than enough options. You’ll want to pick out a few that you can start doing now. Others you will have to look into later. You may or may not have a budget to actually pay for advertising. The good news is you don’t need to have an advertising budget to start getting the growth you’re looking for.
The organic (free) strategies can often be just as effective, or more so, than paying for traffic.
Another method that is discussed both in this podcast, and throughout our blog here – is you’ll want to hire people who know what they are doing. Much of the business consultation we offer will include the option for you to bring us on to do work for you. Depending on what you need, a quote can be put together – and we’ll start using social media to grow your business. We can also put several ‘search engine optimization’ methods into action for you, which will also grow your business.
Once again, you will need to budget for that level of assistance.
While it can save you money to do everything on your own – the time trade off can have a negative impact on your bottom line.
This is where ‘using technology’ to put some of the tasks you’d do manually on auto-pilot Also can come in handy.
Set up an hour Consultation with us today and we can discuss some of these auto-pilot techniques; and technology that you can use, to grow your business.
